LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program
Go Green and Save!
Join other businesses across B.C. who are saving money and reducing energy use by participating in the LiveSmart BC Small Business Program, developed in partnership with BC utilities (FortisBC and BC Hydro), industry associations, the Small Business Roundtable and other BC-based small business operators.
The LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program consists of four separate program components. You can choose to participate in any or all of the four components. Follow the information below to find the best way to save your business money and energy.
Step 1
Read our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about the program.
Step 2
Determine which of the following Program Components you would like to access.
- Business Energy Advisors (BEAs): deliver free energy assessments, help owners tap into available product incentives and cash rebates, and help coordinate product installation.
Visit the BEA Map to find information for your region.
- Direct Installation: funds 100 per cent of the cost of replacing and installing select energy efficient equipment such as lighting and pre-rinse spray valves for commercial kitchens.
- Enhanced Product Incentives: offers enhanced cash rebates for more than 10,000 energy efficient products.
- LiveSmart Champion: an open call for businesses to access funding for new, innovative ways to conserve energy.
The LiveSmart Champion program Winter Call for Applications has closed. Our evaluation committee is in the process of reviewing submissions and will be contacting applicants during the month of April, 2012.
The 2012 Champion Letter of Interest Guidelines and the 2012 Champion Call for Applications are available for reference.
Please remember that Letters of Interest that have been submitted are the first stage in a TWO part application process. If the project described in the Letter of Interest is determined by the evaluation team to have the potential to become a LiveSmart champion, the applicant will be invited to fill out an application. Only applicants who have submitted a Letter of Interest that meets the program eligibility criteria will be sent the program application form. Please note, submitting an LOI does not guarantee an invitation to apply, nor does submitting an Application guarantee you funding.
Step 3
Read the eligibility criteria to ensure your business is eligible.
Step 4
Follow the information on the Program Components page to find an advisor, schedule a direct installation, access enhanced rebates and/or apply for the LiveSmart Champion program.
