Plug-in B.C. - Ready, Set, Charge!

Chances are, if you haven't yet seen an electric vehicle silently travelling on British Columbia's roadways, you will soon. Just last week, I was passed by a family of four driving a baby blue Nissan Leaf while on my bike, and it brought a smile to my face - the future is here! I purposely rode behind it for a couple of blocks - it was such a great feeling to ride a bike behind a car with no tailpipe! I also have had the good fortune of driving a Tesla Roadster, a high end luxury pure electric vehicle, but that is a blog topic for another day...
Since launching the Clean Energy Vehicle Program in December, 116 CEVs have been sold or leased to British Columbians. Through the CEVforBC™ point of sale incentive program (administered by the New Car Dealers Association of British Columbia), British Columbians are eligible for up to $5,000 off the pre-tax sticker price for qualifying CEVs which include electric vehicles (e.g. Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi iMieV, Tesla Roadster, Smart Canada/Mercedes SmartforTwo Electric), Extended Range Electric Vehicles (e.g. Chevrolet Volt, Fisker Karma), and Plug in Hybrid Vehicles (e.g. Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid). But enough about the vehicles... I was asked to blog about charging.
